Cutting Fasteners
Cutting fasteners to change a standard length to a special length is standard practice for headed fasteners, particularly small quantities. Cutting can be via a CNC machine, lathe or a production saw. The advantage of using a turning method to part off the fastener is that a chamfer can also be added.
Allthread studding is regularly cut to different lengths, a number of specialist fastener companies stock precut lengths.
90 degree cutting is standard practice on studding, 45 degree is also in demand.
